The Color of Love

We got a dresser for free from someone and Matt cleaned it up and moved it inside while I was away in California. Matt is pretty thorough and particular and had cleaned the entire house too. A couple of days after I got home, I noticed something about the dresser. It had red paint on various spots that I didn't remember being there. As I looked a little closer, I figured it out and just started laughing out loud to myself. Matt had evidently noticed some scratches and chips in the wood and decided to color them in with brown marker (pretty cheap of us, huh?). My adorable, color-blind Matty thought that the red marker looked like the perfect match. And so we have red neatly covering any blemishes in the wood. Poor Matt gets teased a little, but it is just too much fun. Like when he tells Alex to grab the big blue book and gets frustrated when Alex is looking around confused. I have to step in and tell Alex that he means the big purple book.
Maybe that is why he likes my brown eyes--they must look like a much cooler color than poop-brown.

Face Off

I guess I would describe Alex as "creative" and a "quick thinker". I know he has talent, but maybe he takes it a little too far. For example, he's very good at comebacks, and he's had this thing with involving "your face" in his rhetoric for quite some time. I have a few examples, but this doesn't really cover what he's capable of.
So back when he was only 2 1/2 years old, if he was ever teased a bit by some good-humored aunts and uncles, he would tell them he was going to "put their face on a marshmallow stick and cook it". He's just being funny, you know. No psychosis. But that was just the beginning.
I was driving and came up behind a really slow truck and probably cursed his existence or something. Alex offered to slap his face off the road for me. Thanks, dude.
I asked this child to change his clothes. He replied, "I think you need to change your face". Always going for the laugh. I really shouldn't indulge him, but it cracks me up.
At dinnertime, Alex wanted something to drink and Matt said he'd take care of him in a minute. Alex said, "How about I take care of your face?" It's always funniest when he doesn't know what he's talking about.
The other day I told him that Bekah was going to help dad vacuum the car. He suggested that we "take her outside and vacuum her face."
Once I thought that I could get the better of him. He asked me what I was putting in the blender. "Your face" was my reply. "What? You're gonna chop my face up with that blade like a lawn mower?"
Creative, right?

Psych(otic) analysis

I think my dreams get pretty weird when it is hot. I hope it's not an indication of intelligence. I told Matt about one where I was trying to solve a murder mystery and the clue that solved it all was....well, maybe it is a little too weird for the public eye. But, a couple hours ago my dream involved me taking a shower in a wide open tennis court during a thunder storm. Analyze that if you can. Speaking of analyzing, there is a personality "test" that I came across, and the results were too good to not share with everyone. And, of course, it involves the very same delectable delicacy in this blog's URL--what could be more fun?? So here is the test:

If all of the eight desserts listed below were sitting in
front of you, which would you choose (sorry, you can only
pick one)! Trust me...this is very accurate.

Pick your dessert, and then find out what psychiatrists think about you.
Here are your choices:

1. Angel Food Cake

2. Brownies

3. Lemon Meringue Pie

4. Vanilla Cake With Chocolate Icing

5 Strawberry Short Cake

6. Chocolate Cake With Chocolate Icing

7. Ice Cream

8. Carrot Cake

Okay, so first of all, I don't think people can be categorized into just eight groups. In fact, I don't know why we try to categorize each other at all--people are just too darn complicated. That aside, you probably know my choice was ice cream (given that it is virtually any flavor but vanilla--sorry, all you v. lovers). Here is what the psychs say about me:

7. ICE CREAM -- You like sports, whether it be baseball,
football, basketball, or soccer If you could, you would like
to participate, but you enjoy watching sports .
You don't
like to give up the remote control.
You tend to be
self-centered and high maintenance.

I told Mary my results and she was laughing pretty hard. I think you could even label it as a cackle. Because even if you only know me a tiny bit, you probably know that nothing in there describes me in the least. Except maybe the word "you". But, like they said, "Trust me...this is very accurate."
So if you are dying to know what you would be, post here and I'll tell you. But I can't promise you the same amusement that I got out of it.
